Palo Alto Eichler

Contractor: William Clopton, III

This Eichler had all of the elements of a traditional mid-century treasure – an open, one-story floor plan with a private wing for bedrooms, extensive floor-to-ceiling windows and clean lines. Its understated nature nestled beautifully into the lush landscape surrounding it, inviting indoor-outdoor living. The homeowners valued time in their kitchen, cooking for friends and loved ones, so as a result of this, we made it a priority to improve the kitchen layout to maximize function. To achieve a modern and inviting space, we incorporated warm wood finishes and organic materials, juxtaposed against clean lines and mixed metals. We crafted a layered approach to lighting with custom sconces, and implemented quarter-sawn white oak custom cabinets with natural quartzite countertops and backsplash, complimented by slate flooring. In the bathrooms we took the same approach – specifically, in the primary bath we removed a wall to extend the vanity, opening up the space to bring in additional light to this airy and fresh home.
