Meet The Team

Soleil Sunny Maxwell of Maxwell Design

Sunny Maxwell

Growing up in a small beach town in Southern California, Soleil “Sunny” Maxwell spent most of her time beside the ocean or attending art openings with her mother, nurturing interests in color, composition, and individuality.

After graduating from the University of Arizona and settling in Palo Alto, Soleil worked in marketing and brand communications for 15 years. During this chapter of her career, she solidified her love of design, honed her creative process, and developed key project management skills that would enhance her future work.

In 2015, after attending design school and completing an apprenticeship with her mentor, Marjie Pitchon – a talented local designer with over 50 years of experience – Soleil started Maxwell Design.

Her belief that there is a solution to every challenge – not only in the design world, but also in life – allows Soleil to skillfully manage projects and explore creative ideas, bringing new life into existing homes. And more often than not, the bumps in the road lead to an even better outcome than the original plan.

When she's not creating something completely unique for one of her valued clients, Soleil can be found in the company of her husband and children, traveling, attending concerts, hiking, or practicing yoga.

Ale Door

Alexandra “Ale” Door was born in Peru and has lived in 6 different countries across 3 continents. These big moves instilled in her a love for travel and an appreciation for diverse cultures, history, art, architecture, and landscapes. They also instilled in her to be highly adaptable which today, guides her approach to work and life.

Armed with a BS in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Lima and an MBA from Stanford University, she pursued a 13-year marketing career. During this time, she shaped marketing strategy and brought products to market at companies of all sizes and stages, including top brands in the tech and biotech industries. These experiences developed her keen ability to understand client needs, a creative problem-solving approach, and strong project management skills.

Whether she’s designing a room, creating an event, or shaping photoshoots, Ale has always been recognized for her "eye" for design. In 2021 she made the leap to attend design school and become an interior designer.

When not fully immersed in the world of design, Ale can be found spending time outdoors with her husband and children, traveling, or enjoying the colors of nature.
